Lapis Lazuli Egg 50mm
Lapis lazuli, a deep blue stone often with shiny golden specks due to pyrite inclusions, is carved and polished into this satisfyingly tactile egg shape.
The intense blue colour of this naturally occurring stone can be ground into a fine powder to form the pigment "ultramarine", one of the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments.
Egg height 50mm approx.
